As the anniversary of our 70th year of independence comes to an end I sit and ponder about what the India Tennis League can bring to the table. Our performance in the Rio 2016 Olympics left us with some exciting show of sports, but no medals, while showing glimmers of hope with the likes of Dipa Karmakar, Saina Nehwal, Rohan Bopanna, Sania Mirza, Abhinav Bindra giving their best. Even though some had next to no support from official sport authorities of the country during their training.
Others athletes performed admirably as well and I hope that they continue to do so till they see themselves bringing something to the competition.
As for us here at ITL, well we’ve just begun. We have a long road in front of us and many challenges to face. Some that we’ll enjoy, some that we’ll wish we never have to deal with and some that will test us to the limit. But that’s what made us get together and form this in the first place, the will to take on these challenges and look forward and beyond them and believe what we can achieve is possible.
